During our discovery meeting with the National Director, a significant incident was brought to our attention.

After a cyber hack, this non-profit organization was forced to disable its online platform and halt donation funding.

Our Technical and Online Security team Rapidly assessed the platform and implemented immediate changes to the website as quickly as possible. 

How we helped

The newly implemented Merchant account, which has three layers of security, has helped this organization (1) get back up and accept donations, (2) implement three levels of security to their website, (3) perform card and customer verification, (4) set up a countertop terminal for walk-ins, and (5) partner with Werbylo for a cloud-based donation platform.

Non-profit organizations were paying higher processing fees than average. Through our partnership with Werbylo, we reduced this substantially; donations went up by 120%, and Web platform functionality was 100%. Customer experience was significantly improved, detailed reporting was available, and administrative costs were also reduced.

What we learned?

Over the past 24 month, online payment processing have increased by 800% due to the COVID19, which is created a fantastic opportunity for retailers. However, in the past 24 months, we have noticed fraudulent online credit card transactions have increased by 48%.

Online businesses tend to pay a higher rate because of the type of transaction they are receiving, which is known as CNP or Online transaction. There is also more risk associated with card not present transactions, which can threaten any online business.

Online businesses stay with their processor by average of two years more than any other industry because of the complexity and cost of integration and chance of downtime for the operation. This also results in a higher processing fee paid by the merchant.
